Mustache Update As Promised

This week my wife called me and told me my daughter cried and locked herself in the bathroom when she heard I had a mustache. She asked that I shave it off before I come home. OHHH THAT WILL HAPPEN. This thing which now calls my top lip home is horrible. It is very difficult for me. I guess the whole purpose of War Whiskers is all about it not being easy. It is not easy for the people of Iraq to come to terms and take the appropriate actions to become a thriving nation. Much like it is very difficult for me to live with this thing! It makes a horrible crunching noise when I drink water. Its grown to the point where it catches the corner of my eye. I always think there is some kind of bug on my lip. Besides that, it always scares me when I catch a glance of it in a mirror. With that said, my co-worker and currently the one I hold ultimately responsible for my new look, which kind of reminds me of my dad...brought it to my attention, we (Freedom Journal Iraq) might be the most mustached news team EVER. 7 out of 8 of us are rocking the War Whiskers. (Poor Timmy is too young to grow a mustache! We love him anyway.)
Here are some pics we took today.

Shave it off, I like you better without it. Glad to hear you'll be home soon. Good luck and thanks to you and everyone over there for giving us our freedom.
Love, Aunt Donna

Yep...the stache is not your fortay or personality...but Kuddos for growing one :-) Happy you'll be home soon with your family!

Check this out from 2006:

Ahh...you all look so cozy in the picture.

The stache, tache, tash or mo as they say...makes you look so much different. Older...is that you?

This is kinda weird, because we did the same 'stache thing when I was in Iraq in 05-06, and I'm sure the unit before us, and the unit before them, and the unit before them did it too. Nothing new.

The hilarious twist here, however, is just the fact they got you to grow one. How they did it is beyond me.

Chris, you look very much like your dad with the stash. I like you better without it. Maddie really locked herself in the bathroom? Thats funny/ I am so relieved that you are finally on the downward slope. We will see you and the family in Italy next fall. We are already saving for that trip. All our love from here.

Chris-
It is all about teamwork. I'm sporting a mustache because it has made the guys I work with know I'm serious about what we're doing over here...That, and I lost a bet. I suck at any games of chance.

Mom, Aunt Donna, Judy, & Nan-

AHHHH! I look like my DAD! Thank god I still have all of my hair. :) I can't shave it off until I leave Iraq. It will be the first thing I do when I land in Qatar. I'm thinking about shaving it down into a paper-thin stache, much like what Prince has.

Ok...Paper thin stache?! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I'm one of the biggest Prince fan's ever! Can't say I blame you...after all this effort growing it out, you might as well play with it for a bit. Watch out Italy...watch out Shelly!! :-) P-

Creepy. Creepy. And Creepy.

You need to get rid of that thing.

Actually, Chris, I rather like it. Going Prince doesn't do it for me tho. I am so lucky to have such a handsome and remarkable son, such as you.

I love you dearly

Every time I see the small picture here I have to stop and think. "Thats you not your dad 30 years ago". The Eder genes is a powerful gene. Your dad, you and Oliver are all identical. I will have to ask Aunt Donna sometime to send me a pic. of your dad when he was Olivers age. Hear that Donna?? Have a safe journey home in just a few short days. I love you

Mom-

It is really tough being good looking and smart. Thank goodness the Eder gene also is very humble...
